Compliance isn't paperwork.
It's protection.

Most fleets don't have a safety problem — they have a systems problem, and usually nobody finds out until an auditor does. BT Consult builds the driver files, safety programs, and documentation that hold up when it counts (and yes, I still read the Federal Register for fun. Someone has to).

Think About It

Is your fleet actually on the right track?

  • Insurance premiums keep climbing and nobody can say exactly why
  • Your CSA score quietly puts you in the "high risk" bucket
  • Good brokers pass on your loads over safety performance
  • Dispatch is guessing at FMCSA documentation standards
  • Driver files are scattered across three different folders (we've all been there)

If even two of those sound familiar, the problem usually isn't your fleet. It's your systems.

BT Consult gives you the documentation, training, and process to break that cycle — and get your fleet back to looking like the carrier it actually is.

The Compliance Pyramid

Compliance is the floor. Leadership is the goal.

  • LeadershipSet the standard. Compliance becomes culture, not a checklist someone else owns.
  • SystemsCreate structure — recordkeeping, DQFs, and policy that hold up without you in the room.
  • TrainingBuild knowledge so drivers and dispatch actually follow what's written down.
  • ComplianceEnsure consistency — the baseline every fleet has to clear before anything else matters.
What We Handle

Systems. Not paperwork.

About BT Consult

Built by someone who reads the regulation, not just the headline.

BT Consult was founded to give motor carriers a compliance partner who treats the federal register as required reading — and translates it into something a dispatch office can actually run on.

BT
Billie Tomic
Founder & Principal Consultant

Most carriers don't get into trouble because they're careless. They get into trouble because compliance is a full-time job, and nobody on staff actually has a full-time's worth of hours to give it.

That's the gap BT Consult fills. I sit between the regulation and the road — building driver qualification files that hold up under audit, safety programs drivers actually follow, and the kind of documentation that protects the carrier when something goes sideways. And something always eventually goes sideways.

I'm not going to pretend I got into this because I dreamed of DQFs as a kid. I got into it because I'm good at reading dense regulatory language and turning it into something a dispatch office can run on without a law degree. Turns out that's a rare enough skill that carriers will pay for it.

The approach is direct, sometimes a little blunt, and always plainspoken — no jargon for its own sake, no compliance theater for the sake of looking busy. Just the paperwork, policy, and process that keeps a fleet legal and a business defensible.
